Since our founding in 2016, Collar Scholars at CSU has set the foundation for college club across Colorado and throughout the nation. Our program has seen 78 puppies throughout its ten year history, and looks forward to welcoming many more in the coming years.
The puppies raised on campus are exposed to a wide variety of sights, smells, sounds, and people. It is an incredibly versatile experience which sets up our Future Service Dogs for success. The socialization and training received at CSU aids these puppies in adjusting to life as a working dog for Canine Companions.
Dogs trained by Canine Companions may go on to have a career as a Service Dog, Hearing Dog, Diabetic Alert Dog, Facility Dog, and more. Each individual pup is placed in a career that suits them best based on health, temperament, and drive. Learn about college puppy raising programs and some of our graduates below.
